bbq Chicken in Richmond is a straightforward spot for anyone chasing classic Korean fried chicken with a local twist. Tucked into the Alexandra Road plaza, it offers a casual, no-frills environment that suits groups looking for quick bites or casual hangouts where sharing is part of the experience.

The restaurant is known for its reliably crispy fried chicken, which stays juicy inside—a quality that regulars keep coming back for. You’ll find a variety of bone-in and boneless options, from the golden fried to the sweet-and-spicy glazed versions like their Bisecret Sauced Chicken. Those who want to sample a bit of everything can take advantage of their combo platters, which mix flavors like Original, Secret Spicy, and Black Pepper or the fan-favorite Soy Garlic and Cheesling sauces.

A notable feature is their lemon fries, which deliver a crisp, tangy punch that pairs well with chicken and a cold beer. The pickled radish—a simple but essential Korean side—balances the richness of the fried dishes with a refreshing sweet-tangy crunch. It's also worth noting the cheese balls for a quick, fresh snack, best enjoyed straight from the fryer.

The interior is clean and spacious with enough room to accommodate small groups comfortably. Some visitors appreciate the outdoor patio, which makes it a pleasant spot on warmer days to enjoy chicken and a 500ml Sapporo. Service tends to be friendly and helpful without slowing the pace, making it a laid-back choice for casual dinners or weekend cravings.

Parking is relatively easy here compared to other places in Richmond’s busy corridors, which adds to the convenience for those picking up takeout or dining in. While prices lean a bit towards the higher end and portions feel moderate, the quality and flavor consistency hold up.

This is a place that suits folks who want a dependable Korean fried chicken fix, enjoy sharing plates, and don’t mind a casual, somewhat straightforward dining setup. It works well for groups after a relaxed meal paired with beer or families looking for a fuss-free option that nails the essentials of this popular local comfort food.

Enjoyed the cheese balls, definitely best eaten fresh! I also tried the cheese chicken and the secret sauce; they were decent, but didn’t stand out as much. Overall, a solid spot if you're craving Korean fried chicken.

BBQ Chicken is a great franchise, and one my go-to Korean fried chicken places; there's a decent amount of parking in the back. Lots of selection for food and there's some exclusive selections (it's one of the BBQ Chicken "with Lemon" places, there's another on Robson). The chicken itself is juicy and their fried chicken game is consistent to other BBQ Chickens. There isn't much specialty/craft beers to choose from but I guess that's okay, I don't mind crushing light beers with fried foods anyways. Servers here were friendly and accommodating, they gave us some solid recommendations (the lemon cheesling was great and the "mala hot" mayo dipping sauce was nice). The servers forgot to mention a "large party" minimum surcharge (we were a party of 5, a little strange for "large party" classification; other establishments usually count 8 or more as a large party). It was okay though, the manager didn't charge us the surcharge since it wasn't explicitly mentioned when we were seated, and they provided great service anyways. Definitely worth going if you feel like Korean fried chicken in Richmond.

BBQ Chicken in Richmond is a go-to for satisfying Korean fried chicken cravings. The chicken comes out perfectly crispy on the outside while staying juicy inside, with sauces ranging from sweet and sticky to spicy and bold. Portions are solid, making it great for sharing with friends, and the casual setting makes it an easy spot to drop into when you’re in the mood for comfort food done right.

Great hangout place with patio for chicken and beers. The restaurant was spacious and clean. The servers were friendly and helpful. We got the lemon fries and honey garlic chicken. The fries needed an extra boost of lemon syrup and it was very crispy and tangy. The chicken was moist and packed with flavour. We would definitely come back to try the other items on the menu.

I was surprised to learn that they had 14 locations in BC. I only know of the one on North Road, so I gave them a try since they just opened recently in Richmond. The chicken was juicy and flavorful, and the fries were very good. Lot's of variety to choose from. The staff was super nice and friendly. Price is a bit on the high side, and the portions were small for what you are paying. My mixed box and fries was over $50. There was also suppose to be a free Pickled Radish which I didn't get. Overall, they are pretty good and I would get them a try again

Perfectly crispy and crunchy chicken. Always fun to bring some friends together for dinner here, great deals and pitchers. Can't praise the food enough, the chicken is just iconic.
